By accessing or using Peruse, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use our service.
Peruse provides AI-powered summaries of YouTube videos. We fetch publicly available transcripts from YouTube and use AI (OpenAI or Anthropic) to generate summaries and answer questions about video content.
Peruse is available as a web application and can be installed on your device as a Progressive Web App (PWA). When installed, you can share YouTube links directly to Peruse from other apps.
You may use Peruse as a guest without creating an account, with limited features. To access full features including chat, history, and bookmarks, you must create an account.
To create and use an account, you must:
- Be at least 13 years old
- Provide accurate account information
- Maintain the security of your account
- Not share your account with others
You are responsible for all activity under your account.
We offer the following plans:
- Guest (no account): 2 summaries per day. No chat, history, or bookmarks.
- Free: 5 summaries per day, 5 chat messages per day (1 per video), conversation history, time saved tracking.
- Pro: £4.99/month - 10 summaries per day, 25 chat messages per day (3 per video), conversation history, bookmarks, time saved tracking.
- Ultimate: £8.99/month - 25 summaries per day, 100 chat messages per day (7 per video), conversation history, bookmarks, time saved tracking.
Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. You can cancel anytime. Refunds are provided only for technical issues preventing service use, at our discretion. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing period.
Usage is limited by your subscription tier. Both summary and chat credits reset daily at midnight in your local time. Chat limits also apply per conversation to ensure fair distribution across videos.
We reserve the right to enforce rate limits to prevent abuse and ensure fair usage for all users. Unused credits do not roll over to the next day.
You may not:
- Use the service for illegal purposes
- Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security measures
- Interfere with or disrupt the service
- Use automated systems to access the service without permission
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
YouTube video content, including transcripts, remains the property of the respective content creators and YouTube. AI-generated summaries are provided for your personal use only.
Our service, including all software, designs, and content, is owned by Peruse and protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
AI Accuracy: Summaries are generated by AI and may contain errors or inaccuracies. Always verify important information from original sources.
Service Availability: We strive for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We are not liable for service interruptions or data loss.
Third-Party Content: We are not responsible for YouTube content or its accuracy.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Peruse shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses resulting from your use of the service.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these terms or for any other reason. You may delete your account at any time. Upon termination, your right to use the service immediately ceases.
We may modify these terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
